Yupp, you read it right. Spending a lot of money to buy a Full frame like 5d Mark 4 won’t make you a really amazing photographer. If you are buying your first SLR and you have a basic knowledge of the photography technicalities, then go for crop frame budget body and invest a little more in a good prime lens.
Buying the latest gear will not help if you have not got your hands dirty in practicing and learning photography basics. Now, if you want to upgrade, then again I will say first upgrade your lens and still if you have resources then upgrade your the body. A good lens can make a huge difference as compared to switch from crop frame to full frame.
